"Think Pink!" This famous line from the 1957 classic film Funny Face starring Audrey Hepburn & Fred Astaire has been on the minds of designers the world over for a couple of seasons now...and we couldn't be happier.
The cheery hue, which is available in many different flattering shades, never seems to wear out its welcome. Here at ATF we especially love pink in the cool, grey months of Fall and Winter. Pink takes on the role of a subtle pastel that brings a necessary, but not overpowering, pop of color to the cooler months.
The color pink has had a varied history of meanings and connotations. Long before it was the color of Mary Kay and breast cancer awareness, pink was a popular color for working class men's suits. It signified health, youth, and was even considered a gender neutral color for baby nurseries.
Although in recent history the pendulum may have swung the other way, and Pepto Bismol may have dragged pink into some unpleasant looking territory, the perky hue has struck back with full force.
If you haven't already embraced pink, find the shade that best flatters you an get colorful this winter.
